With permits granted and permission sought and confirmed, this is an opportunity for our club to come together and show our support for local a local charity who do tremendous work within the community. One thing our club does so well is come together and show our support in such ways so this is ideal and a great chance for us to have some fun doing it also.
The plan will be to use our club training session / Monday social run route in part (aprox 5-6k) and please feel free to wear our club colours with the festive addition of antlers and red light-up noses (which will be supplied) and pound the streets. I would like to use our training subs from both nights this week to be donated to the charity and with this in mind, for one night only, training will be a cost of a suggested donation per person. The goal is to get as many of our members to run as possible and as an example, we have had occasions recently where we are seeing close on 50+ runners at our sessions ~ which would be a huge help to an awesome bunch of people doing great work. We can get photos of course and I will add this run to our website to generate publicity and demand but as a club with well over 200+ runners, I believe we can smash this in style and give a huge donation here and in time for Christmas.
This will require the availability and support of our coaches and run leaders but also our members so mark your calendars and save the date!
When ~ Thursday 14th December @ 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start
Where ~ Tilgate / Smith & Western Carpark (by the toilets)
How Much ~ As a suggested donation, we would like to ask that we all give generously and dig deep with all monies on the night going to The Chestnut Tree House
What to Wear ~ High viz clothes are recommended but club tshirts can be worn over them
** antlers and red noses will be given to runners as we meet and gather for our warm-up **
